Pumpkin Bread with brown butter

Ingredients 

For the Pumpkin Bread 

  • 1 package MotherLove Kitchen Pumpkin Spice Mix 
  • 3 eggs 
  • ½ cup water or milk 
  • ⅓ cup oil 
  • Walnuts or pecans (optional, for topping) 

For the Browned Butter Glaze 

  • 1 stick butter 
  • Can substitute coconut oil, but note the glaze color will be lighter 
  • ¼ cup powdered sweetener 
  • (Agave powder, monk fruit, or confectioners’ sugar all work) 
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup 

Instructions 

Bake the Pumpkin Bread 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. 
  2. Prepare the batter: Follow the loaf directions on the back of the MotherLove Kitchen Pumpkin Spice Mix package. 
  3. Bake according to package instructions, then let the bread cool slightly while you prepare the glaze. 

Make the Browned Butter Maple Glaze 

  1. Brown the butter: 
  • Add the stick of butter to a saucepan over medium heat. 
  • Allow it to melt completely and continue cooking until the bubbling slows, the foam disappears, and the butter turns a warm caramel brown with a nutty aroma. 
  • Remove from heat immediately to prevent burning. 
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sweetener and maple syrup. 
  2. Slowly pour in the browned butter and mix until smooth and glossy. 

Finish the Loaf 

  1. Pour the warm glaze evenly over the pumpkin bread, letting it drip down the sides. 
  2. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts or pecans for a perfect crunchy finish.
